About the artist
Sylwia Gromacka-Staśko is a painter from near Zielona Góra, Poland. She has painted since childhood and spent seven years studying at the ART studio in Madrid. In Droszków she has a studio and gallery. Her paintings can be bought straight away or commissioned.
“After all, painting is meant to stir emotions – and Ms Sylwia’s painting brings joy and a smile.”
Her path
She turned her passion for painting into a profession, and found her painterly inspiration in Madrid. With her husband, the sculptor Dominik Staśko, she settled in Droszków, where they create together.
How she paints
She paints in acrylic and oil – on canvas, old boards, wooden chests, and even on shoes and clothes; she decorates glass, too. Her paintings are full of colour and easy to recognise. She paints Zielona Góra as if from a fairy tale: cats perch on the moon and flowers grow out of the roofs.
With others
She is a member of the Janowska Group and has taken part in the NAIF Festival in Katowice. Together with her daughter Milena she prepared the exhibition “Winny Gród”. She runs art workshops.

Her paintings have been shown by the Wilanów Cultural Centre in Warsaw and the Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki-Zdrój. They can also be seen in restaurants across the Lubusz region.

Królowa Kolorów
Sylwia Gromacka-Staśko illustrated Tom Justyniarski’s “Królowa Kolorów” (The Queen of Colours), a Polish-language fairy tale about emotions, imagination and kindness, published in 2026 by Najpiękniejsze Książki.
Antek, a boy for whom the world has turned grey, knocks at the gate of a rainbow kingdom beyond Zielona Góra. It is ruled by the wise Queen Sylwia, who teaches him to paint feelings that are hard to put into words: sadness, fear, courage and joy. Then Antek and Nela set off to visit the children who need colour the most.
